Chiya Guff with a Wildlife Conservationist | Chiranjeevi Khanal | S02 EP14
In this podcast we talk to Chiranjeevi Khanal, a well-known conservationist in Nepal. Currently Mr khanal is in Australia for 3 months to get the experience of Wildlife Research in Australia with Conservation Ecology Centre, Cape Otway, Victoria. Mr Khanal has been working with the Forest Department together with several organizations for wildlife research and conservation in Nepal.
Most of his research focused on the distribution and ecology of different wildlife species and also wildlife crime in western Nepal. Moreover, he runs conservation campaigns in different parts of country to motivate youth in conservation and has been working as a wildlife rescuer in Nepal.
Mr Khanal has been very passionate about wildlife from a young age and to follow his passion as a career, he joined the Institute of Forestry for Certificate and Bachelor in forestry and later completed his Masters in Natural Resources. He is the first person in Nepal to study striped Hyaena, one of the least studied mammals and also represents the IUCN SSC Hyaena Specialist Group as a member from Nepal. He was awarded with “Young Conservation Leader Award” by WWF Nepal in 2015.
In this Podcast, we talk to Mr Khanal about Overall Wildlife information of Nepal , what we don't know about wildlife in Nepal, Wildlife conservation and research work in Nepal, Rare and Endangered wildlife in Nepal , how Nepali wildlife is unique to other state and countries.
