This episode brings you a glimpse into climbing Mount Everest (Sagarmatha), through the lens of Jane Kanizay who is an absolute inspiration. In this episode, we explore everything about successfully climbing Mt. Everest. Jane and her daughter, Gabby Kanizay, became one of the few mother-daughter pairings to reach the summit together in May 2022. At just 19, Gabby Kanizay became the youngest Australian to climb Mount Everest.
Jane shares with us the training strategies which she underwent with her Daughter Gabby before scaling Mount Everest, She also talks about the importance of being resilient to tackle anything high up in the altitude. She also dives deep into subjects such as sources of encouragement for her and Jane to climb Mt Everest, her favorite, and some not-so-favorite moments.
In this episode, we explore the work of Sherpas and the friendship Jane built with them over a period of time. In this episode, we invite inspiring doctor Mr. Sandesh Pantha as he shares his own story and tips on how to pass the difficult Australian Medical Council examination, commonly known as the AMC 1 multiple-choice question (MCQ) examination process in the Australian Context. This podcast covers anything and everything when it comes to pathway to AMC, including academy credential verification, the process of creating an AMC account, and the cost involved. Our Podcast Guest Mr. Sandesh Pantha will focus explicitly on his journey as a Doctor from Nepal to attaining the role of Hospital Medical Officer (HMO) at the regional Hospital in Victoria. Mr. Pantha will also indulge in how he started the job search, what worked for him and what did not, and will also talk about the medical workforce gap in Australia and the challenges he may have faced.As a Ph.D. student at La Trobe University, Mr. Pantha arrived in Australia in 2019. Mr. Pantha completed Australia Medical Council ( MCQ part 1) test in August 2012. Mr. Sandesh Pantha Started his clinical journey in 2007 as a government doctor in Nepal. Mr Pantha joined Jumla District Hospital followed by Lumbini Zonal Hospital. Mr. Pantha Completed his MD in General Practice from NAMS Bir Hospital in 2013 and was marked as a consultant GP at Myagdi District Hospital. Then Joined Marie Stopes International in 2015 and worked for the family planning program as a senior manager. Mr. Pantha is affiliated with Various Community organizations in Melbourne, Gulmi Samaj Victoria, NNCI (Nepalese Neighbourhood Community Initiative ), Study Melbourne (as a student Ambassador ) presidency of La Trobe University Nepalese Students Associations.Join Mr. Pantha as he highlights the importance of our own self-care rituals, schedule downtime and the importance of aiming for a healthy work-life balance.

In this podcast we provide a drop of information about what's going on in NRNA election from State Coordinator and Youth Deputy Co-ordinator point of view. Mahendra Ghimire has filled his candidacy for the upcoming NRNA election as a Victorian State Coordinator. Mahendra has been involved actively in NRNA space prior to his candidacy and assures us that he understands various community issues inside out. Mahendra involvement with NRNA involves being SCC MEMBER 2019-2021, NCC MEMBER 2021-2023 and also been engaged as CHAIR -OCEANIA (Culture and Heritage task force.
Miraj Chapagain has filled his candidacy as Deputy Youth coordinator, he will provide updates on issues related to the youth culture, presenting issues and proposed solutions. Miraj comprehensive resume involves being a Mental Health Support worker at not for profit organisation, working as special educational needs Teacher assistant at special schools and Lifestyle officer in an aged care. Miraj is also a member of ACWA (Australian Community Workers Association).

In this podcast we have invited Rashi Singh Thakuri who has submitted her candidacy for NRNA Vic Women (Nari Nikunja) Coordinator. And Babisha Pandey (formerly known as Rupa) to discuss current youth issues, areas of work and intervention.
Rashi has been involved in community work since 2013, Rashi is first Nepalese to receive two state level awards in Parliament house Victoria. Rashi has been advocating Nepalese issues by working closely with local MP. Rashi holds extended experience including Crime Stoppers Victoria’s Ambassador for Nepalese Community since 2021, Vice President Victorian Labour Party Calwell Branch and currently holding NRNA Vic Women (Nari Nikunja) Deputy Coordinator 2021-2023 role.
Babisha has submitted her candidacy for SCC Youth Member Victoria. Babisha agrees that she is very new to dive in to NRNA election however aware that her extensive experience of working closely with youth especially International students will work in her advantage if gets elected . Babisha works as a Senior Marketing Executive at an Education Firm and has established herself as a dedicated professional in the field of marketing .At times Babisha's passion has extended beyond her professional responsibilities. She has actively involved herself in assisting international students, both directly and indirectly, throughout her career.

In this podcast we talk to Chiranjeevi Khanal, a well-known conservationist in Nepal. Currently Mr khanal is in Australia for 3 months to get the experience of Wildlife Research in Australia with Conservation Ecology Centre, Cape Otway, Victoria. Mr Khanal has been working with the Forest Department together with several organizations for wildlife research and conservation in Nepal.
Most of his research focused on the distribution and ecology of different wildlife species and also wildlife crime in western Nepal. Moreover, he runs conservation campaigns in different parts of country to motivate youth in conservation and has been working as a wildlife rescuer in Nepal.
Mr Khanal has been very passionate about wildlife from a young age and to follow his passion as a career, he joined the Institute of Forestry for Certificate and Bachelor in forestry and later completed his Masters in Natural Resources. He is the first person in Nepal to study striped Hyaena, one of the least studied mammals and also represents the IUCN SSC Hyaena Specialist Group as a member from Nepal. He was awarded with “Young Conservation Leader Award” by WWF Nepal in 2015.
In this Podcast, we talk to Mr Khanal about Overall Wildlife information of Nepal , what we don't know about wildlife in Nepal, Wildlife conservation and research work in Nepal, Rare and Endangered wildlife in Nepal , how Nepali wildlife is unique to other state and countries. Our guest Rosi Aryal Lees is a Research, Advocacy and Policy Manager at multicultural Centre for Women's Health (MCWH). Rosi is currently doing PHD in ANTHROPOLOGY, working with nepali Women to record their story of migration and ADVOCACY.
Rosi is a mother of two who has experienced miscarriage as she shares her tools, knowledge that may help others in similar situation. The episode also includes facts and discussion on the different phases of pregnancy and miscarriage, support for people who are going through miscarriage, role of society , expected role of partner, how to approach miscarriage with others and much more. We also talk about international students' right to pregnancy-related health care, impacts of miscarriage for those who are not covered by health insurance, supports that are available and also examples of organisations that work closely with miscarriage cases.
